Selby RUFC are delighted to announce that Jacob Robinson, will be re-joining the Club as Senior Head Coach for the 2023/2024 and 2024/25 seasons.
Jacob played for Selby through his junior rugby career. He has represented Yorkshire at every age grade from Under 15 to Under 20’s making over 20 appearances, he also represented the North of England at under 18 level and was part of the Leeds Carnegie Academy for a number of years.
He made his first team debut for Selby at the age of 17 in the 2011/12 season making 65 appearances before moving onto Doncaster Phoenix where he enjoyed huge success with back to back promotions.
Jacob is a PE teacher at Hill House School and is an RFU level 3 coach who is actively moving to coach mentor. Jacob is a highly thought of young coach who has been working with our squad over the last couple of years. He has now decided to continue his coaching development with this senior coaching appointment.
Jacob will be responsible for heading up the coaching team and we hope to make further announcements in the near future about his coaching and backroom team.
He is hugely excited at being able to continue and grow upon the improvements made and develop a team and winning style of play that is synonymous with what Selby Rugby Club is all about.
