Selby RUFC Gym Usage Policy & Disclaimer
Membership and Booking
This Gym has been provided for the specific use of Selby RUFC Members only.
- You must have a full Club Membership or have entered into a membership payment plan with Selby RUFC to be able to join the Gym.
- All members are responsible for paying and managing their gym membership fees by direct debit to Selby RUFC.
- The access code to the gym will be sent to members upon the completion of all paperwork and setting up of a payment schedule. This code must not be given to anyone else – it will be changed regularly and all registered gym members will be issued with a new code.
- Should membership be cancelled, your membership will lapse and the ability to use the gym will be suspended.
Use of Gym and Equipment
- All gym members should conduct themselves in a quiet, well – mannered fashion.
- Members must be briefed in the safe use of the facility before they have freedom of access.
This includes being briefed on:
o Fire safety
o Hazard awareness
o House keeping
o Security
o Emergency procedure
o Number of users (no more than six at any one time).
- All members must be briefed on the safe use of equipment before they are allowed to use it.
- Equipment should be used respectfully and without undue noise (such as dropping of weights).
- The members of the gym are responsible for ensuring it is safe before, during and after use.
- Where possible all hazards shall be removed before use, any hazards that cannot be removed must be isolated, reported immediately and recorded in the Gym Safety Communication / Accident Book.
- The Gym Safety Communications / Accident Book shall be consulted prior to use of the facility and equipment.
- The Gym must not be used if unsafe to do so in this case it should be reported to Richard Nicholson (07712 574113) immediately.
Housekeeping, Hygiene and Sanitisation
- Members must provide a clean towel to lay on or to wipe down equipment after use to remove sweat.
- Members must clean down all equipment used and also touch points such as door handles and light switches after use. Anti-bacterial / dilute bleach spray solution and paper towels will be provided.
- Members must bring clearly labelled water bottles and hand sanitiser for their own use.
Disclaimer
- Members agree that all exercises and use of all the club facilities shall be undertaken at the members own risk.
- Members agree that they are in good physical condition and have completed a pre – use health check questionnaire.
- Selby RUFC and employees, shall not be liable for any claims, demands, actions or causes of action, whatsoever, to member or their property arising out of or connected with the use of any of the services and or facilities of Selby RUFC and or their respective agents and employees or the premises where the same are located. The member does hereby expressly forever release and discharge the Selby RUFC and their respective agents and employees, from all such claims, demands, injuries, damages, actions, or causes of action.
- In case of any accident, the member agrees that a doctor or physiotherapist, who shall report, in writing, to both the member and Selby RUFC will examine them at their sole expense.
- Selby RUFC and employees of it shall not be responsible for damaged, lost or stolen articles of clothing or any other personal property of any members.
- Selby RUFC reserves the right to amend or add to these rules and conditions and to adopt new rules and conditions as it may deem necessary for the proper management of the club.
- Selby RUFC shall have the right to change, remove, move, eliminate, add to or modify equipment and building in the club in any manner deemed necessary by club management.
- Selby RUFC reserves the right to revoke or terminate the membership if the member fails to keep and obey any of the above rules and regulations.
- Selby RUFC reserves the right to close the gym for an extended period of time should circumstances dictate.
Junior Members
- Nobody under the age of 15 is allowed inside the Gym.
- Any members between the ages of 15 - 18 must be properly supervised by a responsible adult or within organised strength and conditioning groups.
- All supervisors must be DBS Checked.
- All members must observe the Clubs obligations regarding Child Protection and must therefore not:
o Use bad language
o Bully (verbal, physical & psychological)
o Inappropriately touch
o Be explicitly sexual
Failure to comply with these policies will result in membership to the gym being cancelled.
