Selby RUFC are seeking an active Member, familiar with Selby RUFC, to take up the role of Commercial Director. A key position within the Club you will play a major part in driving us forward.
The Club needs a sustainable income to function and thrive. Passion for rugby alone won’t pay the bills! It’s the Commercial Director’s role to think about the Club as a business, using its assets to their fullest potential and generating the money that sustains its future. You will develop revenue streams in order to grow the Club, using its assets to their fullest potential. You’ll encourage companies to get involved in rugby in exchange for helping them promote their business at our club.
Ideally, you’ll need to be:
• Experienced in business with sales experience
• Resourceful, enthusiastic and dedicated
• Confident and good at communicating
• Good with figures and people
• Well-organised
• Flexible
• Well-acquainted with the running of the Club
• Well-organised, aware and decisive
What you’ll do:
• Generate income for the Club by maximising its assets
• Manage, communicate with and host existing sponsors of the Club
• Source and approach new potential sponsors
• Minimise costs and look for efficiencies
• Work closely with the Clubhouse management to explore other income streams
• Work closely with the fundraising team to maximise opportunities
How much time will it take up?
About 6 hours a week, flexible but occasionally available at the Club. Attend monthly Board meetings.
